Janie Crows - The Blue House Pack
The inspiration for The Blue House comes from the main hexagonal motif that Jane originally designed for her Frida’s Flowers blanket back in 2016. However, it was omitted from the final design as Jane felt that it wasn’t totally right for Frida’s Flowers. Despite this, Jane loved the motif so much that she named it ‘Diego’s Flowers’ after Frida Kahlo’s husband Diego Rivera.
Jane explains that the colours for this project were inspired by the décor of Frida & Diego’s fabulous kitchen within their home, 'The Blue House', in Mexico City. Flashes of orange and pink, bright blues and yellows were prominent colours within the ‘The Blue House’ which Jane has beautifully translated into her blanket design.
